H1N1 Flu Guidelines 

Please call 911 or go to the Emergency Room if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Fast difficult breathing which persists or worsens, especially in childrenBluish color to skin or lips
  • Unable to take liquids and have decreased urination
  • A child who is not waking up or interacting

  • A child who has a rash and a fever

  • Adults with sudden onset of confusion or dizziness, chest pain, or vomiting.
Please call your doctor if:
  • You have a child under the age of 5 who has flu-like symptoms and has a risk of developing complications

  • Illness returns after initial recovery
  • You feel that the person is severely ill and you need help caring for them.

Please stay home, rest, and drink plenty of fluids if:

  • You are experiencing a cough, sore throat or runny nose without a fever or a fever greater than 100F. Remain at home until you are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications.
  • If your symptoms worsen or you are unable to take fluids, please contact your doctor.

At this time everyone is eligible to receive the vaccine, regardless of age.

Please call your primary care provider to schedule an appointment. 

Please note that many school age children will be getting their vaccines at their schools and you should contact your school for further information prior to scheduling an appointment at Grace Cottage.
