Isabelle Westcott Retires
There are quite a few long-
time loyal employees at Grace
Cottage, but not many who,
like Isabelle Westcott, can claim
more than 40 years’ tenure.
The very first issue of Cottage
Door, published in July 1989,
lauded Isabelle as “our super-
woman.” The publication listed
Isabelle’s many duties: running
Dr. Otis’s private practice; typing
physician’s hospital summaries
and X-ray reports and policies and procedures for the
nursing staff; collecting and distributing mail; providing
refreshments for meetings; coordinating the “Blood
Run” to Brattleboro Hospital, “plus anything else you
can think of for Gal Fridays.” Since then, she has worked
in Grace Cottage’s Business Office and at Heins Home.
Isabelle has also served as Second Vice President of the Hospital Auxiliary,
was coordinator of the Fair Day food booth for many years, church
clerk, member of the Eastern Star and Legion Auxiliary, and a member
of three snowmobiling clubs. Thank you, Isabelle, for sharing your
talents with Grace Cottage all of these years.
