GRACE COTTAGE’S
MESSENGER VALLEY
PHARMACY GROWING
When the Messenger Valley Pharmacy opened
to the public on July 1, 1996, one full-time
and one part-time pharmacist were on staff to
fill less than 40 prescriptions per day.
Almost nine years later, Grace Cottage now
employs four full-time pharmacists who
fill an average of 1,100 prescriptions each
week. Excellent service, convenient hours,
and fair prices have been contributing factors
in the popularity of the Messenger Valley
Pharmacy.
To accommodate this enormous increase in demand, changes
are being made to improve the traffic flow within the pharmacy.
A prescription drop-off area will be created where the cash
register is currently located, and two new cash registers
will be placed at a new counter. A private consultation room,
where a pharmacist can answer any questions patients may have
about their medications, will be created in part of the former
Valley Health Council office (VHC has moved up Route 35—see
story). The rest of the former office space will be used
for storage.
The Messenger Valley Pharmacy is open
9-5:30, Monday through Friday, and 9-2 on
Saturday, with weekday hours expected to be
expanded in the near future.
