Wishes Fulfilled

  • A pediatric cardiac/respiratory distress “crash cart” for the Emergency Room was given by Janet Burke in memory of her parents, George & Molly Tomlinson.
  • Four heavy-duty hospital bed tray tables were given by Alden Cutler, in memory of Shirley Cutler.
  • The funds to purchase a capsule-making machine for the Messenger Valley Pharmacy were given by Sarah Messenger & Paul Weber.
  • At the request of Melissa Astley’s family, all gifts which were given to Grace Cottage in Missy’s memory were used to purchase two new medical examining tables. They are in the offices of Dr. Kimona Alin and Family Nurse Practitioner Sarah Parmelee, and plaques on both tables read: “In loving memory of Melissa Astley.”
  • A large number of supporters helped to purchase five new chairs, a corner table and coffee table for the Grace Cottage Family Health waiting room. It’s been fun to hear patients’ exclamations of joy and relief as they settle into the comfortable and sturdy chairs and, along with the beautiful tables, they’re a welcome addition to the reception area. Two chairs were given by Jed & Nina Tullett in memory of George & Udith Rosenthal, two chairs by Anna May Ray in memory of her parents, Mabel & Joseph Ray, and one chair was given by Stephen & Edith Serke. The corner table was given in honor of the Mt. Lebanon Chapter #89, Order of the Eastern Star in Jamaica, and the coffee table was given by Dr. Renee Bergner in honor of her parents, Dr. Richard & Suzanne Kirsch.
  • At the request of Marguerite Wyman, Panwy Foundation donated funds for a hypothermia/ hyperthermia blanket, and also towards a new Ambulance.
  • Over 55 supporters responded to our recent Ambulance appeal, and all of them have been thanked individually. We’ll keep you posted on our progress and plans regarding the Ambulance.

A recent note from a grateful patient:

“My stay [at Grace Cottage Hospital] was lovely— Healing was easy because of all of you—I have been in many different places to heal broken bones — but this is the very first that has healed body, mind and spirit — this place is very special and there’s no way to thank you enough.”
